You can make a difference in Kevin's life and the nearly 400,000 Americans living with MS.

After a nearly fatal car accident in college, I was in pretty bad shape. The accident caused swelling in my brain and I needed to have brain surgery. I was left in a very confused state for a couple of years. Then, adding to my complications, three months after the accident I began to feel numbness and tingling in my fingers. These symptoms led to a very unexpected diagnosis at the age of 22:
I was expecting to hear that I would quickly become permanently disabled. Along with a large portion of those affected by the disease, I was ignorant about MS. Now, battling general misconceptions about MS has become a primary goal in my involvement with the National MS Society and the Bike MS events.
In some cases, MS causes unique symptoms that can be effectively treated by a physician. In other cases, one disabling symptom can progressively lead to another, eventually causing permanent disability. As my dear friend and teacher taught me in 8th grade, as he battled non-Hodgkins lymphatic cancer, attitude is often the most effective treatment. That lesson has stayed with me and has become a large part of my motivation with my involvement with the MS Society.
Now, after living with MS since 2004, I have three main goals for Drummond Cycling:
I hope that you will consider supporting Drummond Cycling as a rider, a volunteer, or as a donor to help us to accomplish these goals. If you have any questions feel free to email me, kevin@drummond.ms.
Thank you,
Kevin Drummond
